Applied Sparse Signal Processing and Compressed Sensing

Invitation to Workshop: “Applied Sparse Signal Processing and Compressed Sensing”

In the last decade the signal processing community has experienced and driven important research in the area of sparse signal processing, and in recent years compressed sensing. Sparse signal processing with compressed sensing is a powerful tool that enables e.g. sub-Nyquist sampling of bandlimited signals if certain requirements are met. Such knowledge opens possibilities to design signal processing algorithms and systems with different characteristics than classical signal processing systems.

Compressed sensing has been a hot topic in signal processing and applied mathematics research the last couple of years. Although compressed sensing is not a technology, we are starting to see many useful applications for this signalprocessing tool and signs that the research is starting to mature. Important compressed sensing signal processing tools are used in faster MR imaging, image superresolution, sub-Nyquist sampling of multi-banded signals or radar imaging and random demodulation of communication signals.

Therefore, we would like to invite you to a workshop at Aalborg University with the title Sparse Signal Processing and Compressed Sensing. The workshop will focus on applied and industrial sparse signal processing and compressed sensing. There will be several presentations by researchers at Aalborg University working in the field, and time for networking. The intention of this workshop is to bring together industry and academia for knowledge sharing and cooperation.
